Madde Sund Leads Beavers On Day One At Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. – Madde Sund led the Oregon State women's golf team in the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate, hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice on Friday.
The Beavers concluded the opening day with a 23-over 307 at the par-71, 6,278-yard Stanford Golf Course.
The second round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Beavers will tee off beginning at 11:45 a.m. and be paired with Colorado.

Sund, who is competing in her first tournament of the 2024-25 season, rolled in birdies on the first and seventh holes, both par-5's, to finish with a 4-over 75. The senior from Skollersta, Sweden had a scoring average of 75.34 in 32 rounds last season.
Raya Nakao, who had a scoring average of 72.05 as a true freshman last season, the best in Oregon State single-season history, finished a stroke back of Sund with a 5-over 76. She also had two birdies with those coming on the par-4 fifth and par-4 10th holes.
Junior Kyra Ly, who led Oregon State in the first two tournaments of the fall season, posted a 6-over 77. She matched Sund and Nakao with a pair of birdies with hers coming on the par-5 first and par-3 fourth holes.
True freshman Clara Alevag finished the first round with an 8-over 79, while sophomore Rebecca Kim posted a 10-over 81.
Host Stanford fired an 11-under 273 to take the first-round lead, while Megha Ganne of Stanford holds the individual lead with a 5-under 66.
