Danique Stokmans Fires 3-Under 69 At Pac-12 Championship

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Danique Stokmans fired a 3-under 69 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the second round of the Pac-12 Championship on Tuesday.
The Beavers improved their second round score by one stroke and remained in seventh place with a 7-over 292-291--583 at the par-72, 6,398 Papago Golf Club.
The final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
Stokmans started on the 10th hole and was 1 over at the turn. She reeled off four birdies in holes two through six for her 3-under 69. She up the leaderboard and into a tie for seventh place with a 2-under 73-69--142. This is the first time she's competed at the Pac-12 Championship.
Her best career score is a 4-under 68, which she carded as a redshirt freshman last season and at the Illini Women's Invitational earlier this season.
Chayse Gomez was consistent and solid for the second-straight day and moved into a tie for 27th place with a 3-over 74-73--147. Through the first 36 holes of the championship Gomez has four birdies, 25 pars and seven bogeys.
She started the tournament with three-straight bogeys but has played even golf over the next 33 holes. Gomez competed at the Pac-12 Championship for the first time last season and finished in a tie for 19th place.
Madde Sund knocked three strokes off her first round score on Tuesday, shooting a 1-over 73 with one birdie and two bogeys, after opening the event with a 4-over 76.
Kyra Ly and Amanda Minni are both tied with Sund on the individual leaderboard, as Ly posted scores of 73-76 and Minni shot 72-77.
Sund, Minni and Ly are all tied for 36th place with a 5-over 149.
Minni's best career finish at the Pac-12 Championship is a tie for 27th place in 2021, while Sund finished in a tie for 23rd last season as a redshirt freshman. Ly is a true freshman and competing at the event for the first time.
Arizona and USC share the team lead through 36 holes with an 8-under 568. Rose Zhang of Stanford holds a four-stroke lead over a pair of golfers with a 9-under 135.
