
Oregon State Prepares for NCAA Regional Final

DENVER – The Oregon State gymnastics team returns to the Regional Final for the first time since 2019, when the Beavs take on Michigan, LSU and host Denver on Sunday at 4 p.m. PT from Magness Arena.
OSU tied LSU for first in the Regional Semifinal with a 197.375, while defeating No. 19 Georgia (197.000) and No. 23 Nebraska (195.525) to advance to Sunday's finale. The 197.375 marks the second-highest regional total in program history.
The top two finishing teams of the session will advance to the 2023 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas on Apr 13-15 at Dickies Arena.
Ashley Miles Greig and Steve Schlanger will have the call on ESPN+ (subscription required). The Beavs will start on beam for the third time this season, rotate to floor, then vault, while finishing the meet on bars.

FIRST TEAM ALL-EVERYTHING
Sophomore Jade Carey earned five WCGA Regular Season All-America honors for the second-straight season and now has 13 All-American honors in two years at Oregon State, taking home NCAA All-America honors in the all-around, bars and floor in 2022. Carey is one of three gymnasts in the country to collect honors in every event, including the all-around this season, and the only one to be First Team on all five. Carey is the first gymnast since 2020 to take home First Team honors on all four events, plus the all-around. The Phoenix-native now holds the 14 highest all-around scores in program history, breaking her own record twice this year with a pair of 39.875s.
LEADERS OF THE PAC
The trio of Jade Carey, Madi Dagen and Sydney Gonzales were all honored by the Pac-12 office, taking home eight different honors for their accomplishments during the regular season. Carey led the way with six selections, earning her second-straight Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year award, while being named All-Pac-12 First Team in the all-around and on all four apparatus. JC finished the regular season ranked first in the nation in the all-around and on floor, second on beam and vault and tied for fourth on bars. Dagen closed the year on a tear on to earn All-Pac-12 Floor Honorable Mention, including a career-high 9.950 on three different occasions. Mad Dawg now has six All-Pac-12 honors in her career, and ranks in the top 50 in the nation on floor (T-37) and on beam (T-40). Gonzales dazzled on the beam all season to earn All-Pac-12 Beam Honorable Mention with six routines of 9.900 or better, including a career-high 9.975 at Arizona State. Syd just missed Regular Season All-American honors, finishing tied for 18th on beam, while ranking tied for 44th on vault.
CC THE SCIENTIST
Sophomore bars specialist Carley Beeman is an honors student in the College of Science, majoring in Chemistry with a focus on Advanced Biochemistry at OSU. She has served in the leadoff spot on bars at every meet, scoring 9.825 or higher on four occasions during her second year with the program. Beeman has been accepted to the prestigious ASPET Institutional Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, where she will conduct 10 weeks of research with the Pharmacology department at the University of Michigan Medical School beginning in May.
MAD DAWG'S MAKING MOVES
Super senior Madi Dagen is heating up at the right time for OSU. Dagen has recorded 11 scores of 9.900 or better over her last 18 routines, including seven of 9.925 or better. The Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year recorded season-highs on all three events she competes, with a career-high 9.950 on floor on three separate occasions.
CONSISTENCY IS KI(KI)
Fifth-year senior Kristina Peterson has served as a steady piece at the top of the beam lineup, hitting every routine this season. Peterson has scored a 9.800 or better at 10 of 13 meets, including scores of 9.850 or higher in five of the last six.
CAN WE GET DÉJÀ VU?
OSU last reached Nationals following the 2019 Corvallis Regional that featured the Beavs and Denver, while Arizona was in the play-in. OSU is hoping to book its ticket back to Fort Worth in 2023, facing the same trio of opponents in a new location.
