Pope Tabbed to Pac-12 All-Freshman Team
March 06, 2023 | Men's Basketball
CORVALLIS – Oregon State guard Jordan Pope has been named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Pope was a three-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week this season. He leads all Pac-12 freshmen with an average of 12.6 points per game, including an average of 11.6 points in conference games. The guard finished the regular season second among Pac-12 freshmen in assists, and is 10th among freshmen in total rebounds.
A native of Oakley, Calif., Pope is shooting 42.8 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from 3-point range. Heading into the Pac-12 Tournament, the guard is second on both Oregon State's freshman scoring list and freshman 3-pointers list. He needs 13 more points and two more 3-pointers to set the Oregon State record in those categories.
Pope has scored in double-figures in 22 of Oregon States 31 games this year. He set a season-best with 23 points against Portland State in November.
With his selection, Pope becomes the 15th All-Freshman selection in Oregon State men's basketball history. Glenn Taylor Jr. was selected to the conference's All-Freshman squad last season.
Oregon State enters the Pac-12 Tournament as the No. 11 seed, and will face No. 6 seed Arizona State Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
