
Carey Takes Third-Straight Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a second-straight week with a pair of perfect scores and the highest all-around score in the country, sophomore Jade Carey was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week, taking home her sixth weekly award of the year and 15th of her career, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Carey matched her own school record in the all-around, tying her career-best and NCAA-leading 39.875 against Stanford on Friday night, including perfect 10.000s on bars and floor against the Cardinal.
She picked up her 80th career event title with victories on bars, beam, floor and the all-around, while tying for second with a 9.900 on vault.
Carey broke the school record with her ninth 10.000 of her career, surpassing the previous record of eight held by Chari Knight.
The Phoenix native ranks tied for first in the all-around with a NQS of 39.815. Carey leads the nation in the all-around and on floor with a NQS of 39.815 in the all-around and 9.985 on floor. She is tied for first on vault, tied for second on beam and ranks seventh on bars.
Carey opened her night with her first perfect 10 of the year on bars and second of her career to help the Beavs to a season-high 49.375 on the apparatus, marking the eighth-straight routine of 9.900 or higher for the sophomore on bars.
A small hop on her Yurchenko double led to a 9.900 on vault, as OSU once again set a season-high on the event with a 49.375.
Carey was perfect on floor for the second-straight week and third time this season, as the GymBeavs tied the second-highest score in program history for a 49.675.
Carey just missed her third 10.000 of the night with her third 9.975 of the year on beam, helping the Beavs break the school record with a 49.650 as a team for the highest mark in program history.
