BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Pitt 76-51 Friday afternoon in the NIT Season Tip-Off at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Dexter Akanno led the Beavers with 12 points and five rebounds, going 8-for-10 from the free throw stripe. Jordan Pope and Tyler Bilodeau both finished in double-figures, ending the game with 11 and 10, respectively.

KC Ibekwe went 4-for-8 from the floor to end the day with nine points and six rebounds. Josiah Lake II recorded three steals.

The teams traded punches early on, as the Panthers headed to the game's first media break leading 10-8. Pitt was in front 18-13 at the under-12 break. The Panthers used a 14-3 run to extend the lead, on their way to a 39-27 halftime advantage.

Pitt went up by 20 early in the second half and took the win by 25.

Oregon State will return home next week to take on UC Davis Thursday evening at Gill Coliseum.
