Gomez, Ly Lead Beavers On Day One At Ron Moore Collegiate

HIGHLANDS RACH, Colo. – Chayse Gomez and Kyra Ly both fired a 2-under 70 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Friday.
The Beavers concluded the opening round of the three-day tournament in a tie for seventh place with a 2-under 286 at the par-72, 6,648-yard University of Denver Golf Club.
It's the third time in the last four rounds Oregon State has finished in red figures.
Host Denver leads the 14-team field after posting a 16-under 272. The second round begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
Gomez and Ly are each tied for 11th place on the individual leaderboard after their strong first rounds. Gomez had a bogey-free round with birdies on the par-4 12th and par-4 16th holes. Ly had five birdies, tied for the fifth most in the field, and three bogeys.
Raya Nakao and Madde Sund both finished the opening round with a 1-over 73 to make up the Beavers' score. Nakao rolled in three birdies, while Sund finished the day with two to put both of them in a tie for 39th place.
Teammates Anna Zanusso and Emma Bryant of Denver share the individual lead with a 6-under 66.
