
Beavers Battle Bruins to Draw

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Oregon State men's soccer team battled UCLA to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, Calif.
The result leaves the Beavers with a mark of 7-5-4 on the season and 4-1-4 in Pac-12 play with one game remaining in the regular season. UCLA marked the third-straight opponent Oregon State has shut out and the fifth clean sheet by OSU this season.
Logan Farrington and Pere Belmonte, recorded two shots apiece.
Arnau Farnos nearly opened the scoring less than 10 minutes in, when he took aim on an effort that was saved from 20 yards out. Pere Belmonte fired one off target in the 28th.
The teams headed to the break level at 0.
UCLA was awarded a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, but the shot bounced off the post and out of play. The Beavers nearly found the break-through just over a minute later, as Javier Armas took aim on a scramble in the box, but the shot was blocked.
Ellis Spikner was within inches of giving Oregon State the lead in the 83rd minute, as his effort was blocked off the heel of a Bruin defender. OSU earned a free kick in an attacking position late on in the contest, but could not capitalize as the game ended in a stalemate.
The Beavers will be off next week, before they wrap up the regular season on Nov. 9 when Washington visits Lorenz Field.
