Oregon State Baseball
Â
A life-changing journey to the United States led me to Corvallis. As an aspiring baseball player from Australia, I had the privilege of being recruited by some of the best U.S. universities..When it came time for a decision, Oregon State University stood out as the clear choice. It wasn't just about baseball; it was about the quality of people and community.
Â
From the moment I connected with Oregon State staff, I felt something unique – a sense of belonging. The embrace of this tight-knit community made me feel comfortable, allowing me to be myself without needing to act a certain way. It was evident that we were on the same page, united by a shared passion for the game.
Â
Choosing a school in the U.S. meant selecting a stepping stone for my baseball dreams and aspirations. Oregon State, with its three national championships and a remarkable track record of first-round picks, was the ideal place to nurture those dreams. Beaver Nation has left an indelible mark on my journey to pursue a career in Major League Baseball.
Â
My time at OSU has been incredible. The quality relationships I've formed here are what I treasure most. From my dedicated academic advisor to my teammates, I've built lifetime bonds. Lifelong memories have been created, and there are many more to come.
Â
These relationships extend beyond the diamond. My connection with the coaching staff and the Corvallis community has blossomed, providing me with a support system and guidance essential for personal growth.
Â
Goss Stadium, the heart of this baseball haven, stands as a testament to the extraordinary atmosphere in Corvallis. There's nothing like the feeling of winning here, and I've been fortunate to be part of some remarkable victories. However, it's not just the wins that leave an impact. The tough losses have also left a mark, teaching me lessons about resilience and the enduring spirit of this family.
Â
The experience of losing in the postseason at OSU has been humbling. Witnessing heartbreak throughout the dugout as something so special ends is undeniably challenging. You realize this may be the last game of baseball for some teammates, and the last time you'll ever play with that group. Those losses have taught me a lot, pushing me to come back stronger, both as a player and a teammate.
Â
My OSU journey extends beyond the field. I'm pursuing a degree in psychology, which stems from a deep desire to better understand myself but also the intricacies of the human mind. This knowledge will enable me to become a better person, for myself and those around me. Additionally, I find psychology to be fascinating.
Â
The mental game is a crucial component of achieving success in baseball. As I delve into psychology, I aim to comprehend the psychology behind optimal human performance. The more I understand the mind, the more I can apply these insights to my game, making it easier for me to excel in this challenging sport.
Â
Beyond my academic pursuits, I have a dream that has guided me since childhood – a career in Major League Baseball. I believe I'm on the right path to achieving that dream, thanks to the support and nurturing environment at Oregon State. Yet, my aspirations go beyond personal success; I want to create opportunities for baseball in Australia through my playing career.
Â
I cannot emphasize enough how fortunate I feel to be part of Oregon State and the vibrant Corvallis community. The relationships, support and opportunities have been instrumental in my journey. Oregon State and Corvallis have become my home away from home, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experiences and the people who have made it so remarkable.
