Moersdorf’s PR Highlights Day 1 at Razorback, UW Invites
January 27, 2023 | Women's Track & Field
SEATTLE and FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– Anneke Moersdorf put together a career-day in the pentathlon, coming from behind to place fifth by smashing her previous PR in the 800 meters.
Moersdorf was outside the top 10 after the first two events and 10th after a fifth place result in the shot put before earning sixth in the long jump and third in the 800 while racking up enough points to move up five places and record a career-best 3,983 points. The redshirt junior also equaled her PB in the high jump, clearing 5-foot-6.
In addition to a strong multis debut, the Beavs got solid performances in the field from Keely McLaughlin (11.62m shot put) and Emma Nelson (1.73m high jump) to finish in the middle of high-quality fields.
On the track, Taylor Weidinger entered the OSU Top 10 in the 200-meters with a personal best of 25.10. She's now one of four active Beavers in the top 10 in the 60 and 200 meters indoors.
The day closed with the season debut of the distance medley relay. The returning All-American team of Adael Scatena, Mari Friedman, Grace Fetherstonhaugh and Kaylee Mitchell stopped the clock in 11:00.57. It was three seconds off their school record and two behind their performance at last season's NCAA Championships.
