Olmos Named Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week
January 10, 2023 | Wrestling
SAN FRANCISCO – Aaron "Mateo" Olmos is the Pac-12's wrestler of the week following his 9-4 win by decision, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The Imperial Beach, Calif., native took down the country's fourth-ranked wrestler – and reigning All-American, Dustin Plott, in Sunday's dual with No. 12 Oklahoma State.
He is the third Beaver to be presented with the honor – after Trey Munoz was 2022's last and Cleveland Belton won it following the season's first weekend. This nod for Olmos is the second in two seasons.
Olmos and the Beavers will be on the road for their next two – the FloWrestling Showcase in Austin, Texas versus Princeton on Friday and at Little Rock for the Pac-12 opener on Sunday.
