May 09, 2022 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS – Future Beavers Timea Gardiner and Raegan Beers have both been selected as WBCA First Team All-Americans, the Women's Basketball Coaches of America announced Tuesday. Both players are slated to join the Beavers for the 2022-23 season after signing National Letters of Intent in November.
The WBCA honor is the latest in a long line of recognition for the duo, who have both also been named McDonald's All-Americans, Jordan Brand All-Americans and Naismith All-Americans. Oregon State joins UConn as the only programs in the nation with multiple players on the WBCA All-America First Team.
Gardiner (Ogden, Utah) was a three-time All-State First Team honoree in Utah. She was a two-time All-Region MVP and a two-time All-Tournament Team for the state championships. Gardiner is a five-star recruit and ESPN's No. 6 rated player in this year's signing class.
Gardiner also made her mark with USA Basketball, helping the Stars and Stripes U-16 squad to a Gold Medal at the 2019 FIBA Americas in Puerto Aysen, Chile.
Beers (Littleton, Colo.) is a three-time All-State honoree in Colorado and a two-time Jefferson County Player of the Year. She is also a five-star recruit and is among ESPN's top-10 players in the nation.
Beers was selected to compete at USA Basketball Trials in 2019.
Gardiner and Beers will be joined by fellow incoming freshmen Adlee Blacklock and Lily Hansford, as well at incoming transfer Bendu Yeaney.
