
Jade Carey Garners Ninth Pac-12 Weekly Award

Carey leads the nation in the all-around heading into the postseason as the Beavers compete in the Pac-12 Championships Saturday.
SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey picked up her ninth Pac-12 weekly award on Tuesday afternoon, the conference announced. The Freshman of the Week selection is her sixth of the season, adding to her lustrous Beaver career thus far.
The Olympic gold medalist concluded the regular season grabbing conference awards in seven of the nine competition weeks for the Orange & Black.
With the help of Carey, the Beavers concluded the regular season at the Denver Quad on Sunday, March 13 finishing second behind No. 18 Arkansas with a 196.875 in the Mile High City.
Carey, who went undefeated in the all-around this season, tallied her ninth title with a career-best road score of 39.800. Carey's all-around performance was also the highest amongst any gymnast in the conference last week. The freshman went 9.95s in all four events as Oregon State scored its best beam score of 49.475 this season.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native also garnered individual event titles on all four events on Sunday and now holds 41 individual titles this season. She leads the nation in the all-around heading into the postseason.
Carey and the Beavers turn their attention to the postseason beginning Saturday, March 19 at the Pac-12 Championships. The No. 3-seed Oregon State gymnastics team will compete in the night session at 5 p.m. PT at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
