December 12, 2022 | Women's Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State is set to open the 2023 schedule as one of sixteen women's collegiate gymnastics teams heading to Las Vegas on Jan. 6-7 for the inaugural Super 16 presented by Ozone at the Orleans Arena.
"We're thrilled to take part in such a great event for collegiate gymnastics," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "It's a loaded field and each session is going to see so many great gymnasts take the floor. We know that this will be a great test for our student-athletes to start the season and we can't wait for the opportunity."
The Super 16 presented by Ozone, the largest women's collegiate invitational with more than 300 gymnasts, opens the first day of the women's 2023 collegiate season. The two-day competition has four competitive sessions, with team, all-around and event champions for each session.
The No. 14 Beavs are joined by Pac-12 members No. 24 Arizona State, No. 17 Stanford, No. 8 California, No. 10 UCLA and No. 21 Washington in Vegas, while No. 5 Auburn, No. 22 BYU, new NCAA member Fisk, No. 20 Georgia, No. 18 Iowa, No. 4 Michigan, No. 27 North Carolina, No. 1 Oklahoma, RV Rutgers and No. 28 Southern Utah round out the star-studded field at the inaugural Super 16 event.
OSU's opponents at the meet will be announced soon, but the Beavs are set to compete on Friday, Jan. 6. All-session tickets range from $79 to $291 plus fees and may be purchased online through the Orleans Arena website. For more information, go to Super16gymnastics.com.
