Trevor Larnach Makes MLB Debut

DETROIT – Outfielder Trevor Larnach made his Major League debut on Saturday, becoming the 38^th Oregon State player to compete at the game's highest level.

Larnach, a 2018 All-American for Oregon State, batted in the fifth spot of the lineup, and played in left field at Detroit. He went 0-for-4 but was hit by a pitch and also robbed of potential extra bases on a ground ball in his second at bat.

Larnach and the Twins were due to play against former Oregon State left-hander Matt Boyd on Sunday, but the game was rained out.

The Pleasant Hill, Calif., native played in 156 games for the Beavers from 2016-18, and batted .311 with 36 doubles, one triple, 22 home runs and 128 runs batted in. He drove in 77 runs in 2018, second-most in a single-season at Oregon State, and was named an All-American by multiple outlets after that season.

Larnach played in 172 games at the Minor League level prior to his call-up, and batted .306 with 43 doubles, two triples, 20 home runs and 96 RBI.
