January 15, 2021 | Women's Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State gymnastics team left with three individual event titles but it was visiting Boise State heading home with the 194.300-191.950 win Friday evening.
The Beavers opened with a solid, if not spectacular, vault rotation. Madi Dagen, who finished with two event titles, led the team with a vault-winning 9.90. Lena Greene and Kaitlyn Yanish added two 9.8 scores. Sydney Gonzales rounded out the vault performance with a 9.825 for her very first routine in competition with OSU.
Oregon State found its way to the uneven bars where the Beavers suffered a bit. With only Kayla Bird returning to the bars from the 2019-20 season, Oregon State saw five new routines in the second rotation. Kristina Peterson started the event off for the Beavers with a team-high 9.550.
Trailing 97.85-94.85 at the halfway point, OSU reduced the gap slightly with beautiful routines on the beam. Dagen closed out the rotation with an event-high 9.850 for her flawless routine. Jenna Domingo followed close behind after sticking her dismount for a 9.825.
Led by Yanish, the Beavers saw a strong close with an event win on the floor. Yanish nailed her routine for the individual floor title with a 9.90. Bird and Dagen did not let the lack of fans mess with their routines landing two 9.775 scores for a second-place tie.
Peterson completed her first all-around at Oregon State with a 38.725.
The Beavers will stick to Gill Coliseum for their second meet of the season. OSU will host Washington on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.
