Our gymnastics quarantine series continues with a Q & A with rising junior Alexa McClung.

Q: Where are you quarantining?
A: I've been going back and forth between Salem and Corvallis.
Â
Q: What is the biggest positive to come from your quarantine?
A: I've found that I really like to paint!
Â
Q: What is your preferred work out location during quarantine?
A: I prefer to work out outside.
Â
Q: Abs or cardio?
A: Abs

Q: What TV series have you enjoyed the most during the quarantine?
A: I've started to watch a lot of Netflix shows but I never finish them. Currently I'm watching the 16th season of Grey's Anatomy.

Q: What have you done during the quarantine that you didn't do during normal life?
A: I've spent so much more time with my dog!

Q: Have you done anything to improve yourself during quarantine?
A: I wanted to use this time to find what I like outside of gymnastics. I found out I like to paint because it helps me relieve my stress.

Q: What was your favorite moment from the 2020 gymnastics season?
A: There's so many memories that are my favorite! From Madi (Dagen) competing her one and a half on vault, Kiki (Kristina Peterson) getting a 9.90 on floor as lead off, Lacy (Dagen) getting a 9.975 on beam, Alyssa (Minyard) thriving after coming back from a season of injury, and all the career-highs and new people getting the opportunity to compete!

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: I've been thinking about this a lot especially during this time. I want to either be a wedding planner, business owner or gymnastics coach.

Q: Is there a skill you're looking forward to learning during the offseason?
A: Currently I've narrowed my skills to what I'm going to compete next season, but I would like to learn a double layout off the bars.

Q: How is remote college working out? What has been your biggest school challenge?
A: It's going great, I haven't had any troubles.

Q: What do you look forward to the most about getting back to Corvallis (or other people getting back to Corvallis?
A: I cannot wait to be back with my team! I miss them so much!
