Jake Luton Selected By Jacksonville In NFL Draft
April 25, 2020 | Football
CORVALLIS – Oregon State quarterback Jake Luton has been selected in the sixth round, 189th overall, by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Luton lettered for Oregon State from 2017-19, playing in 23 games for the Beavers, with 21 starts. He concluded his career with 42 touchdown passes, which ranks fifth most at Oregon State. His 5,227 passing yards, meanwhile, ranks seventh.
The Marysville, Wash., native played in 11 games for the Beavers in 2019, passing for 28 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He became just the third quarterback in OSU history to throw for more than 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions or less in the same season.
Season ticket prices for the 2020 season remain the same as for 2019, with an additional game and the 124th Civil War. For information on season tickets please call 541-737-2050 or online at osubeavers.com.
A sixth-year senior, he completed 62 percent (222-for-358) of his passes in 2019, and was named as one of the recipients of the Mayo Comeback Player of the Year Award. He was selected as an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Luton was also chosen as the CFPA National Player of the Week (Oct. 6), and was honored to the Davey O'Brien Award Great list (Oct. 7) and Manning Award Star of the Week (Oct. 7) after passing for five touchdowns in Oregon State's win at UCLA just a few days prior.
Luton joins the list of Oregon State quarterbacks chosen this century, which includes Sean Mannion (2015, 3rd round, St. Louis), Sean Canfield (2010, 7th round, New Orleans) and Derek Anderson (2005, 6th round, Baltimore).
Luton is the first Oregon State player to ever be taken by Jacksonville in the NFL Draft.
