Corvallis – Oregon State softball has a strong foundation set up by the alumni that played in the Orange and Black in the years prior. We continue to look back on the accomplishments that those teams had that help to propel our program further.
Join us in looking back at what had happened this past week in history from April 19-25.
April 19
In 2000, Oregon State picked up two wins over Portland State. The Beavers were led by Jenny Jodoin who finished the day with three hits, one home run, two RBI and two runs scored.
Key moments:
Oregon State opened the OSU Softball Complex in fine fashion as the Beavers knocked off top-ranked UCLA, 2-1, in 2001. OSU was one of only four teams to defeat the Bruins that season.
Key moments:
In 1984, Joan Harvey threw her second no-hitter of her career to help Oregon State capture a 4-1 victory over in-state rival Oregon.
April 22
In 2003, junior Monica Hoffman became the first pitcher in OSU history to throw four no-hitters in her career when the Beavers blanked Portland State. Oregon State picked up two victories over the Vikings that day.
Key moments:
Solo home runs from Mikela Manewa and Madison Anthony proved to be the difference makers in a 3-2 victory for Oregon State over No. 10 Washington in 2016.
Key moments:
Known as "The Hit" in Oregon State's record book, OSU sophomore Steph Adams sent a two-out full-count pitch over the left field wall to give the Beavers a dramatic 4-3 victory and sweep of the Ducks in 2001.
Key moments:
In 2003, Kelly Petersen and Vanessa Iapala hit back-to-back home runs in the third inning to propel OSU to an 8-4 upset over No. 12 Arizona State. The win was OSU's fourth consecutive victory.

April 19
In 2000, Oregon State picked up two wins over Portland State. The Beavers were led by Jenny Jodoin who finished the day with three hits, one home run, two RBI and two runs scored.
Key moments:
- The Beavers won the first game, 5-2 with Crystal Draper pitching 3.0 innings with three strikeouts. Tarrah Beyster picked up the victory after putting up a 4.0 inning performance with five strikeouts.
- OSU racked up nine team hits in game one led by Parisa Plant and Brynnen Guthrie each hitting two while Shawna Feldt, Shelly Prochaska, Jodoin, Steph Adams and Michelle Chariton had one.
- The bats came alive even more in game two as OSU finished with 12 hits from seven players. Guthrie, Prochaska, Jodoin and Beyster led the way with two hits each as Feldt and Adams had one to help OSU win, 5-1.
- Draper started in the circle and pitched 1.1 innings without giving up a hit before being replaced by Beyster. She pitched 5.2 innings with 10 strikeouts to improve to 21-9 on the season.
- Beyster set two school records that day: single-season home runs (13) and single-season RBI (39).

- Brooke Rutschman led the Beavers offensively going 2-for-3 with one run scored.
- Clare Burnum added a hit of her own and two RBI. She hit the two-RBI single in the fifth inning to give OSU all of the runs needed.
- Shelly Prochaska and Cara Maxey finished out the hits with one each. Michelle Chariton scored the second run for OSU.
- Crystal Draper pitched her 19th complete game of the season and picked up her 20th win.
- The win marked the fifth-ever victory for the Beavers over the Bruins.

April 22

- In game one, Shannon Sorg went 3-for-3 with one run scored. Clare Burnum and Adrienne Alo each had two hits and two runs scored. Burnum picked up four RBI and Alo had three.
- Four Beavers accounted for five home runs in the first game: Alo (two), Burnum, Vanessa Iapala and Kelly Petersen. This was the first time OSU had recorded five homers in a single game setting a school record. Following the home runs, OSU had 48 homers on the season for a team record.
- Hoffman threw a 6.0 inning no-hitter with five strikeouts to capture the victory in the circle.
- In game two, the bats stayed hot for the Beavers who recorded 14 hits led by Alo and Shannon Sorg each hitting three. Burnum and Iapala recorded two while Prochaska, Petersen, Adams and Cara Maxey each added one as the Beavers won 8-0.
- Burnam, Petersen and Sorg recorded a home run in the second game. Petersen finished with three RBI while Sorg and Iapala had two.
- Hoffman picked up another victory in the circle after pitching 4.0 innings with two strikeouts. She became the third pitcher in OSU history to earn 20 wins in a season. Dena DuBois pitched 2.0 innings in relief.

- McKenna Arriola scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning after hitting a single into center field.
- The Huskies evened the score in the top of the second before Anthony reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning with her solo-home run.
- Manewa extended the lead in the fourth inning and Washington made an attempt to come back in the fifth but OSU's defense held tough to capture the victory.
- Bev Miller started in the circle for OSU and improved to 11-8 after pitching 6.0 innings with five strikeouts. Meehra Nelson picked up her fifth save of the season after pitching one inning and striking out two batters.

- Monica Hoffman pitched 2.1 innings with three strikeouts and allowed four hits. Crystal Draper improved to 22-8 on the season after pitching 4.2 innings with five strikeouts.

- Both teams scored one a piece in the first inning. ASU scored another in the second before adding a third in the third inning.
- OSU forged ahead in the third inning scoring four runs. ASU added another in the fifth before the Beavers upped its advantage after batting around the line-up.
- Oregon State out-hit the Sun Devils, 12-9, with Petersen recording three. Clare Burnum and Steph Adams each had two while Brynnen Guthrie, Adrienne Alo, Shelly Prochaska, Iapala and Shannon Soag finished with one.
- Petersen had four RBI and two runs to lead the Oregon State.
- Amy Klever improved to 7-6 on the season after pitching 7.0 innings with six strikeouts.
