Corvallis – According to the 2020 schedule, Oregon State should be hosting Arizona State this weekend at the OSU Softball Complex. Due to that not being the case, we continue to reflect on the history that has been made by the Oregon State softball program and the alumni that built the foundation for where the program is today.
Join us in looking back at what had happened this past week in history from April 12-18.
April 12
In 2008, Oregon State defeated No. 22 California with an 8-0 run-rule victory in six innings. Audrey Roderfeld led the way going 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored.
Key moments:
For the first time in series history, Oregon State run-ruled No. 8/9 UCLA in five innings in 2017. The Beavers took down the Bruins, 8-0, to mark the first time OSU has run-ruled a top-10 Pac-12 opponent.
Key moments:
Oregon State dominated Oregon on this day in 2001 shutting out the Ducks in the first game, 8-0. The Beavers then pounded 12 hits en route to an 11-2 victory in the night cap matchup. The wins improved OSU's record to 32-15-1 and was the first two Pac-10 victories that season.
Key moments:
On this day in 1997, recently named Oregon State's Athletic Hall of Fame, Tarrah Beyster, struck out 15 batters in 12.2 innings against Portland State. This is the most batters struck out by an OSU pitcher in extra-inning play. As a freshman, Beyster finished the season as a NFCA Pacific-Region First Team honoree and was a Third Team All-American.
April 16
In 1978, Mary Newman became the first Beaver to draw four walks in a single game when OSU played Oregon College. Since then, a Beaver has drawn four walks on five other occasions including: Tarrah Beyster (twice), Brooke Rutschman, Mary Claire Brenner and most recently, Dani Gilmore in 2012 against Long Beach State.
April 17
On this day in 2018, Kayleen Shafer recorded a walk-off home run against Portland State. This is the most recent walk-off home run hit in a full 7.0 inning game.
April 18
2008 was a big year for the Beavers. On this day, Oregon State captured a 3-1 victory over Oregon. The Beavers finished the game with seven team hits.

April 12

Key moments:
- OSU jumped out to an early start scoring three runs in the first inning. The Beavers followed that with two runs in the second and one in the third before capping the game off with two runs in the sixth inning.
- Oregon State finished with 10 total hits and no errors. Roderfeld led with three hits followed by Erin Guzy hitting two for two RBI. Five other Beavers each recorded one hit: Dani Chisholm, Paige Lowe, Cambria Miranda, DeAnn Young and Tarah Black.
- Black's hit was a home run, her second on the season.
- Kelly Dyer pitched all six innings and picked up two strikeouts while only allowing five hits. Dyer improved on the season to 16-15.

- Senior Taylor Cotton picked up her eight win on the season and fourth shutout after only allowing the Bruins to record two hits. Cotton finished the game with five innings of work and struck out four batters.
- Alysha Everett finished with four RBI to bring her total to 16 in a six game span. She also went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
- Natalie Hampton hit her fourth home run of the season and brought in three RBI.
- OSU finished with eight hits in the shortened game, led by Everett and Sammi Noland each recording two.
- McKenna Arriola went 1-for-1 and scored two runs. Shelby Weeks joined her scoring two runs of her own.

- Pitcher Crystal Draper improved to 18-8 on the season with a win in game one. Draper gave up only two hits and had eight strike outs in seven innings of work.
- OSU's offense exploded for seven runs in the third inning off five hits including a two-run RBI by Steph Adams.
- Traci Feldt brought in the final run of the game with a RBI single in the top of the seventh. Feldt finished the game 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run scored.
- Brooke Rutschman led the batters in game one, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
- In game two, Oregon took the lead in the bottom of the first. OSU responded in the top of the second, scoring four runs on three hits. Shelly Prochaska started things with a double and advanced on a single. She stole home to start the scoring rally.
- Rutschman capped the scoring in that inning with a two-run home run over the center field fence.
- Clare Burnum went 2-for-4 with one RBI in the second game including hitting a triple.
- OSU extended the lead in the third, scoring three more runs. In the sixth inning, the Beavers scored four more runs to help Monica Hoffman improve to 12-7 on the season from the circle. Hoffman pitched five innings with six strikeouts.

- DeAnn Young tacked on two hits of her own.
- McKenna Lowe finished with a hit, RBI and one run scored while Cambria Miranda scored the third run.
- Erin Guzy recorded only one run but brought in two RBI. Paige Lowe was the final Beaver to record a hit during the game.
