14th-Ranked Beavers to Face No. 12 Washington Friday at Gill

ON TAP
• Oregon State remains home to take on No. 12 Washington at Gill Coliseum Friday at 7 p.m. This week's contest is the second of three straight home meets to conclude the regular season.
• After tying their season-high of 196.825 on Saturday, the Beavers' moved up the rankings four spots to No. 14 in this week's rankings according to RoadToNationals.com.
• The Beavers will once again seek to post a high score to replace the 196.700, which they scored at home against LSU and Arizona State in early February, in their National Qualifying Score (NQS).
• OSU enters the week with a 8-6 overall record and is 3-3 in Pac-12 competition.
• Friday's meet is OSU's fifth straight against teams ranked in the top 13 in the nation.
• Washington, which enters the week ranked No. 12, has a record of 6-2-1. The Huskies scored 197.600 in a loss to Utah last week.
CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY MEET
The meet is a celebration of diversity culture at Oregon State. The event will serve as an informational opportunity for students and the campus community to learn about campus and OSU Athletics' programs such as DAM Diverse, Real Talk, Women LEAD, the International Student-Athlete Club, and Beavs Be True.

AGAINST THE HUSKIES
• The Beavers lead the all-time the series with the Bruins, 108-28.
• Oregon State won both meetings in 2019. OSU defeated the Huskies 196.100-195.900 in an early season dual in Seattle and then bested the Dawgs a second time at Pac-12 Championships 196.600-196.175.
IT'S A TEAM EFFORT
• The Beavers have made it a habit in 2020 to use a full complement of gymnasts to complete their 24 routines. Through the first nine meets, OSU has used as many as 15 gymnasts four times - at the Critique Classic, vs. Seattle Pacific & Centenary, at Arizona and against Stanford.
• In all, 16 of the Beavers 20 gymnasts have performed in the competition lineup this season ... Lena Greene and Jane Poniewaz, who suffered season-ending injuries prior to the season starting, both likely would have held more than one lineup spot.
• Only one gymnast, Kayla Bird, has performed in the all-around and that was only in the season-opening Critique Classic.
SUPER SENIORS
• OSU has eight seniors on the roster consisting of Halli Briscoe, Lacy Dagen, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Alyssa Minyard.
• The senior class has performed a team-leading 93 routines and has combined to 'hit' 86 of those routines.
DAGEN DUO
• Sisters Lacy Dagen and Madi Dagen combined to hit their first 31 routines of the season.
• Lacy posted a career-best 9.975 on the beam against Stanford to win the the event title and lead the team to a season-best 49.375 on the event ... she has collected two event titles in 2020.
• Madi secured her first event title of the season against Stanford scoring a career-high 9.90 on the vault completing the first Yurchenko 1 1/2 of her career ... she has secured four event titles in 2020, including three last week at California.
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER
• Thus far in 2020, the Beavers have combined to win 23 event titles (including ties).
• Junior Kaitlyn Yanish has accounted for a team-high seven event titles including six on floor and one on vault. Yanish went through a stretch of three straight meets with wins on floor (vs. SPU, at Sacramento State and at Arizona) and five wins in six weeks. Last week, Yanish scored a season-best 9.950 to win the event against UCLA, which was the top-ranked floor team in the country.
• Senior Isis Lowery has provided a challenge to Yanish in 2020 on the floor winning six total event titles including four on floor and two on the balance beam. Lowery tied with Yanish for top honors against Seattle Pacific, but also set a career-high with a 9.975 to earn top honors against Stanford (2/2).
• Sophomore Madi Dagen has been a key cog for the Beavers on three events all season. Last month, Dagen caught fire at California (2/22) winning three of her four event titles in a single meet. Dagen has two vault wins to go with one each on beam and floor.
• Senior Lacy Dagen has a pair of beam titles to her credit in 2020 including winning the event with a career-best 9.975 against Stanford (2/2).
• Senior Maela Lazaro has also secured a pair of beam titles from her anchor slot in the lineup. Lazaro has registered career-bests of 9.925 twice claiming wins at Sacramento State (1/27) and against LSU (2/8).
• Seniors Halli Briscoe and Sabrina Gill have each claimed a title on the uneven bars with Gill's coming in the season opener at the Critique Classic and Briscoe's at the home opener against Seattle Pacific.
LAST WEEK VS. UCLA
• Oregon State easily set its season-high on the uneven bars scoring 49.400 en route to tying its high score of the season, 196.825, against UCLA at Gill Coliseum on Saturday.
• Kaitlyn Yanish notched a season-high 9.950 on the floor exercise to win the event title ... Halli Briscoe tallied a career-best 9.950 on the uneven bars and Sabrina Gill (9.925) and Colette Yamaoka (9.80) each tied their career-highs ... Kristina Peterson set a personal mark with a 9.850 on the beam.
• The Beavers performed last week without Lacy Dagen (vault & beam) and Maela Lazaro (beam). Both are expected to return to the lineup this week.
QUICK STICKS
• All four of OSU's lineups are ranked among the top 30 in the nation. The floor exercise lineup is the highest ranked for the Beavers tied at No. 9 (49.345 National Qualifying Score). Beam is 11th (49.250), bars is No. 25 (49.025) and vault is No. 27 (48.970).
• Oregon State has 'hit' 201 out of 216 (93.1%) routines in 2020 ... in comparison, the Beavers 'hit' 313 out of 336 (93.2%) routines last season.
• Through nine meets, OSU's routine production breakdown looks like this: Seniors have performed 93 of 216 routines in 2020 (43.1%), sophomores 45 of 216 (20.8%), juniors have produced 44 of 216 (20.4%) and freshmen 34 of 216 (15.7%).
• Oregon State opened the season on the road for the fourth straight year
• Eleven of OSU's 15 regular season opponents on the 2020 schedule are currently ranked in the top 36, including six in the top 12.
• OSU hosts six regular season home meets in 2020 for the first time since 1981. The Beavers will be home Jan. 11 (vs. Seattle Pacific & Centenary), Feb.2 (vs. Stanford), Feb. 8 (vs. LSU & Arizona State), Feb. 29 (vs. UCLA), March 6 (vs. Washington) and March 14 (vs. Illinois).
• The gymnastics team posted a 3.4667 grade point average during the fall term ... the squad carries a cumulative GPA of 3.3664.
• Sixteen out of 20 OSU gymnasts posted GPAs of 3.0 or better during fall term and 13 were 3.5 or better including two 4.0s.
COACH CHAPLIN TAKES LEAVE
   On Jan. 30, head coach Tanya Chaplin announced she would take an indefinite leave of absence due to health-related issues. Former OSU All-American Mandi Rodriguez has returned to the program to fill in as the acting assistant coach during her absence.
   Associate head coach Michael Chaplin will fill in as the acting head coach during her absence.
   "It is difficult to step away for a period of time, but it is the best way to continue what I love to do in the future, and that is coaching," Chaplin said. "I'd like to thank Scott Barnes, Marianne Vydra, my team and staff for their support throughout this process. I know the program is in good hands while I focus my energy on healing. I look forward to supporting this team, along with Beaver Nation, in every way I can while I'm away. Go Beavs!"
THE ROSTER
Here are some quick hitters about the 2020 Oregon State gymnastics roster:
• The Beavers have eight seniors on the team (Halli Briscoe, Lacy Dagen, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Alyssa Minyard). The trio has combined to perform 270 routines in their career entering the season.
• There were three additions to the squad this fall with the arrivals of freshmen Kayla Bird, Jenna Domingo and Jane Poniewaz.
• Lena Greene, who opted to use a fifth-year of eligibility prior to the season and is now a redshirt junior in 2020, and freshman Jane Poniewaz will both miss the season due to injury.
• Fifteen of the 20 gymnasts on the 2020 team competed in at least one meet for the Beavers last season. Jaime Law and Alex McClung are all seeking their first competition routines at OSU, in addition to the three freshmen.
• The Beavers have three gymnasts that hail from the state of Oregon - Lena Greene (Tigard), Jaime Law (Corvallis) and Alex McClung (Salem).
• OSU also has two gymnasts from outside the United State - Sabrina Gill (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) and Isis Lowery (Melbourne, Australia).
LOADING UP FOR 2020
In November, four gymnasts made official commitments to join the Oregon State gymnastics program for the 2020-21 academic year. Sydney Gonzales (Newport Beach, Calif.), Kaitlyn Hoiland (Kent, Wash.), Anna Yeates (Roseville, Calif.) and Ariana Young (San Mateo, Calif.) are scheduled to enroll at Oregon State this coming summer ... last month, the Beavers received a fifth commitment from Julia Melchert (Puyallup, Wash.) to also join the program in the fall and this week Grace Johnson (Snoqualmie, Wash.) made her commitment to become a Beaver next fall as well ... in addition, 2018 signee Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz.), who has deferred her enrollment to train for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics still plans to join the Beavers in time for the 2021 season.
