Stanford, Calif. – Destiny Slocum scored 26 points, but the No. 15 Oregon State women's basketball team fell to No. 4 Stanford 63-60 Friday evening at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif.
Â
The Beavers overcame a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to get within a possession late on, and had a chance to tie the game on a 3-pointer on the closing possession, but could not convert.
Â
"This was a great game," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "I was pleased with our effort ad our focus tonight. This team has really been through a lot in the last month and a half or so, and I am impressed by the way they keep coming. I thought we prepared really well on a short week, and we brought a great effort. We played with huge heart to battle back in this game, and I'm really proud of the team."
Â
Slocum went 11-for-22 from the floor in the contest. Taylor Jones tallied 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in the game. Mikayla Pivec finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
