Beavers, Sun Devils Set For Saturday Showdown

THE GAME: Oregon State (15-11, 5-9 Pac-12) plays the red-hot Arizona State Sun Devils (18-8, 9-4 Pac-12) at 5 p.m. PT (6 p.m. MT) on Saturday at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe.

vs. ARIZONA STATE: Oregon State and Arizona State are meeting for the 92nd time with the Sun Devils holding a 48-43 edge in the series. ASU has a 30-12 advantage in games played in Tempe, including 10 consecutive wins. The Beavers' last victory in Tempe came on Jan. 13, 2007 (67-59).

The Sun Devils have won three straight in the series, including the first meeting between the teams this season, 82-76, on Jan. 9 in Corvallis. Tres Tinkle and Ethan Thompson scored 22 points apiece to lead the Beavers. Remy Martin scored a game-high 24 points and Rob Edwards added 18 off the bench for ASU.

Arizona State won both meetings last season. The first was 70-67 on Jan. 17 in Tempe and the second was 74-71 on March 3 in Corvallis.

AMONG THE PAC-12's ELITE: Tres Tinkle needs 45 points to pass Gary Payton and become the all-time leading scorer in Oregon State history. Tinkle recently moved into the top 10 on the Pac-12 career scoring list.
