Beavers Continue Indoor Season at Husky Classic

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State Track & Field team continues its indoor regular season this week with the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. The Beavers will send a contingent of their squad as they compete inside the Dempsey Indoor Center for the third time this season.
HUSKY CLASSIC

Portland Indoor Two
Claire Corbitt and Maddie McHone shined last week for the Beavers as the versatile sprinters notched solid finishes in the 60-meter hurdles. The pair finished third and fourth in the prelims and went on to finish runner-up and third in the final race.
McHone continues to find her groove as she set a PR in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.26.
Lauren Miller went on to take fifth place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.87 in the finals.
Husky Classic
Notable teams represented at the Husky Classic include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Boise State, BYU, California, Colorado, Georgia, Gonzaga, New Mexico, North Dakota State, Northern Arizona, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Portland, Southern Utah, Stanford, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Utah, Utah State, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Friday's Husky Classic begins at 2:30 p.m. with the women's weight throw and the first track events will be at 3:00 p.m. Along with 60-meter hurdle finals and 200-meter dashes, the invitational 3,000-meter and mile races will be run Friday evening, wrapping up at approximately 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the Husky Classic resumes at 10 a.m. and should finish just after 3:30 p.m.
The 3,000-meter race will be a big event on Friday, featuring Greta van Calcar, Gabby Peterson, Alyssa Foote and Meagen Lowe. Lowe previously notched a career-best time of 9:41.67 earlier this season at the UW Preview.
A group of sprinters also highlight the weekend as Tarisa Olinski, Paige Sefried, Taylor Weidinger and Nyah Songster compete in the 200 and 400m races on Friday and Saturday. Olinski looks to improve on her personal best indoor time of 57.84 in the 400m.
Starting off on Friday in the weight throw will be the usual group in Keely McLaughlin, Sydney Guthrie-Baker and Lindsay McShane.
NEXT UP
The Beavers are back in action for third Portland Indoor Meet on Feb. 22-23. Competition will be split between George Fox University and the University of Portland.
