PULLMAN, Wash. – Oregon State opened Pac-12 play with a tough 59-55 loss to Washington State on Wednesday evening at Beasley Coliseum.

The Beavers moved to 2-1 on the season and 0-1 in Pac-12 play. The season-opening game over California was considered a non-conference win.

Zach Reichle led the Beavers with 12 points and Warith Alatishe posted his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Oregon State ended the first half with an 8-0 run behind a layup by Alatishe and back-to-back triples from Reichle and Jarod Lucas to lead 26-23 at the break.

The Beavers return to Gill Coliseum for seven consecutive games, beginning with a tilt against Wyoming at 1 p.m. on Sunday that will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
