What is your favorite thing about playing at Oregon State?  Â
Jake Luton: "Being around a bunch of great teammates every day."
What do you like most about Oregon State University, aside from playing football?  Â
JL: "I love the city of Corvallis and how many great things there are to do in town and the outdoors."Â
What has been your favorite class at Oregon State?  Â
JL: "This past term I took a class where my group (one of my group mates being Blake Brandel) was assigned to help a local startup company bring their product to market. It was a great experience and I learned so much from it. The class was taught by Larry Martin, who is one of my favorite professors I've had. "
How would you describe what it's like to play for Coach Smith and Coach Lindgren?Â
JL: "Playing for Coach Smith, Coach Lindgren, and the rest of the staff is one of the most enjoyable and beneficial group of coaches I could imagine playing for. There is so much teaching and coaching going on all the time."
Does your number mean anything to you?  Â
JL: "My whole life I wore No. 7 because it was my mom's favorite number. When I came to OSU it wasn't available so I chose 6 because it was close to 7, and touchdowns are worth 6 points."
If you weren't playing football, what would you be doing?  Â
JL: "Hopefully still playing baseball."
What was your first impression of Oregon State when being recruited? How has that changed, if any?  Â
JL: "I grew up in the PNW so I've always known of OSU. It's just been an honor to be a member of a program with as much history and tradition as Oregon State has."
Who are the teammates you hang out the most with away from the field?  Â
JL: "Andre Bodden, Clay Cordasco and Blake Brandel."
What are your thoughts on the new uniforms?  Â
JL: "I really like them. They're the perfect mix of traditional and modern style. The tree ring on the numbers is sweet, and the "BEAVS" is a cool touch."
Do you have any pre-game superstitions?  Â
JL: "Nothing too crazy. I always pray before I take the field. Since high school I have always listened to "All Eyez On Me" by Tupac right before heading out to the field."
What life lessons has the game of football taught you?  Â
JL: "Football has taught me so much about perseverance, responsibility, accountability, and hard work. I think that many of the lessons I've learned from football haven't even been realized yet. As I grow older I imagine I will notice several things football taught me about life."
What doors has football opened that might not otherwise been an option?  Â
JL: "Football has given me so many amazing friendships and connections that I would have never had without it. Football allowed me to earn two college degrees debt free which will hopefully continue to open doors for me down the road."
What does an Oregon State education mean to you?  Â
JL: "An Oregon State education means so much to me. The tools and knowledge I've gained at OSU have given me the opportunity to better my future."Â
