Corbitt, McNairy Set Sail for Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships

CORVALLIS – Senior Saskia McNairy and sophomore Claire Corbitt are on their way to Tucson, Ariz. to compete in this year's edition of the Pacific-12 Conference Multi-Event Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
The two-day, seven-event heptathlon begins on Saturday at Roy P. Drachman Stadium at 5 p.m. with the 100-meter hurdles. The final day of competition begins at 5:30 p.m. with the long jump.
The pair of Beavers have competed in one full heptathlon this season already at the Jim Click Multis earlier this season. McNairy registered the fourth-best finish in OSU history compiling 5,235 points finishing in fourth place. Corbitt finished in ninth place with 4,232 points, the No. 7 mark on the Oregon State all-time leaderboards.
At the conference meet, the top eight finishers score team points; McNairy currently ranks seventh in the conference, with Corbitt coming in at 13th.
Saturday's competition will consist of the 100-meter hurdles (5 p.m.), high jump (6 p.m.), shot put (8:30 p.m.) and 200 meters (9:45 p.m.). Sunday wraps up with the long jump (5:30 p.m.), javelin (7 p.m.), 800 meters (8:30 p.m.).
Washington's Hannah Rusnak leads the field coming into Tucson with a heptathlon score of 5,642 points. Others in the field of competition this weekend: Christina Chenault – UCLA; Michaela Wenning – Colorado; Maja Wichhart-Donzo – Colorado; Keira McCarrell – Oregon; Kolbi Sims – Utah; Skylar Sieben – Arizona; Allie Jones – Stanford; Lindsey Schauble – Washington State; Drianna Mustin – Colorado; Elinor Jones-Toutant – Washington; Isa Videler – UCLA.
