Joey Mundt and Jake Mulholland combined to limit Oregon to three hits and three walks in six scoreless innings of relief. Dukart singled home a run in the sixth and McGarry homered in the eighth.
Radio Tuesday
Fans in the Portland area can find Tuesday's game versus the Pilots on KEX 1190 AM. And, as always, the game will air on TuneIn via the "Beaver Sports Network."
Captain Clutchman. Nah, Just Clutchman
Adley Rutschman comes into Tuesday's game versus Portland ranked third in the nation with a .433 batting average. He is first with a .581 on-base percentage and fifth with a .793 slugging percentage. He's been walked 64 times this season, which leads the nation. Of those 64, 21 have been intentional.Â
Mr. Mundt
Joey Mundt is coming off a season-long 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against Oregon on Sunday. The freshman has appeared in relief four times since April 26, and has held opponents scoreless in 7 2/3 innings. He has allowed three hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts over that stretch.
Attendance On A National Level
Oregon State is 15th in the nation averaging 3,651 fans per home game in 2019. That is an average of 58 fans less per home game than No. 14 Texas Tech, and less than 200 shy of 13th-ranked Florida. The 3,651 average would break last season's mark of 3,594 for the best in a single season.
The Bullpen Does Its Thing
The Oregon State bullpen was stellar in the series victory over Oregon. The bullpen held the Ducks to four hits and six walks with 11 strikeouts in 10 scoreless innings over the weekend. Of course, the pen wasn't needed on Friday as Bryce Fehmel tossed his second complete game of the season.
Singles
• If one were to take away Adley Rutschman's 21 intentional walks, he would have 43 by normal situation this season. Those 43 would rank fourth in the Pac-12 Conference.
• The bullpen has allowed just three earned runs in 19 innings in the month of May.
• Adley Rutschman is on a five-game hit streak (9x17) while Beau Philip (9x19) and Andy Armstrong (4x9) are at four games.
