Beavers Advance Five to Pac-12 Championship Finals

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Oregon State wrestling team advanced five student-athletes to the championship finals at the 2019 Pac-12 Wrestling Championships which are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. PT.
Stanford has the lead after the first session with 56.5 team points. The Beavers are close behind with 54 points, while ASU (50), CSU Bakersfield (35) and Cal Poly (15) round out the field of competition. Pac-12 Networks will be providing coverage, links are available on the schedule page at OSUBeavers.com.
Ronnie Bresser was the first to punch his ticket to the finals defeating Eddie Flores of Cal State Bakersfield. Bresser won by fall (3:43) and will take on Arizona State's Ryan Millhof in the finals.
Grant Willits advanced to the finals after winning a tight match against Cory Crooks (ASU). Willits is slated to wrestle Brandon Kier of Stanford. The two met a few weeks ago in Corvallis with Willits getting the better of Kier, 9-3.
157-pounder Hunter Willits advanced to the finals for the second straight year after picking up a 6-1 decision over Stanford's Paul Fox. Willits will meet Christian Pagdilao (ASU) in the finals at 6 p.m. The pair wrestled earlier in the season with Pagdilao edging Willits, 3-1.
Bob Coleman wrestled a great match in the semifinals earning a spot in the finals tonight. Coleman connected on three takedowns as he won by decision, 9-7. Coleman will wrestle Judah Duhm (Stanford) in the finals; the two did not meet in Corvallis earlier this season.
The Beavers' last finalist for this evening is No. 3-ranked Amar Dhesi. Dhesi pinned his way to the finals, and will meet Haydn Maley. The two have not met previously this year.
Devan Turner (133), Josh Reyes (149) and Colt Doyle (174) will be wrestling for third place, while Aaron Olmos (165) and Jamarcus Grant (197) are in the consolation round to make the third place bout.
Tonight's session begins at 4 p.m. PT with the championship finals scheduled to start at 6 p.m. PT.
