
Beavers To Compete At Bandon Dunes Championship

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team returns to action Sunday through Tuesday at the 10th Annual Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore.

FIELD (17): Oregon State, Boise State, Denver, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, North Carolina State, Cal State Northridge, Ohio State, Oregon, San Jose State, SMU, UNC-Wilmington, USC Upstate, Utah, Utah Valley and Washington State.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,954-yard Bandon Dunes Course. The tournament rotates between the resort's four courses each year. This is the third time it will be played on the Bandon Dunes Course.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of juniors Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, sophomore Spencer Tibbits and freshmen Sean Kato and Nolan Thoroughgood. Freshman Carson Barry will compete as an individual.

FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. each day.

LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament on golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT: Spencer Tibbits fired a 3-under 69 in the final round of the Southwestern Invitational to lead Oregon State in its last tournament.

The Beavers finished in seventh place in the 12-team field with a 16-over 295-292-293--880 at the par-72, 6,992-yard North Ranch Country Club.
Â
Tibbits used his excellent final round to move up the leaderboard and finish in ninth place with a 2-under 74-71-69--214. It's the fifth top-10 finish of his young career.

Sean Kato finished in a tie for 32nd place with a 7-over 76-71-76--223 and Kyosuke Hara was a stroke back to finish in a tie for 37th place with an 8-over 73-78-73--224.

Freshmen Nolan Thoroughgood (10-over 72-72-82--226) and Carson Barry (21-over 79-83-75--237) finished in a tie for 46th and 59th, respectively.

USC won the team title with a 4-under 860 and Justin Suh of USC claimed medalist honors with a 12-under 204.
