Last Game
Alex McGarry hit a home run and he and George Mendazona both finished with two hits but the Beavers dropped a 3-2 decision to California Friday night at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. McGarry's home run tied the game at two in the seventh but the Golden Bears took the look for good via a wild pitch in the eighth.
Eisert's First Start
Brandon Eisert made the first start of his career on Friday and was solid, holding California to just two hits and a run with five strikeouts in five innings. The fourth-inning run was his first allowed of the year. He went 22 innings without allowing a run to start the season.
And Fehmel
Bryce Fehmel, today's probable starter, was named as one of 30 candidates for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award on Friday. He is the lone player selected from the Pac-12 Conference. The senior comes into the game with 29 career wins and is looking to become the fourth pitcher in OSU history with 30 or more. He would join Luke Heimlich (2015-18) and Ben Wetzler (2011-14) with 36 apiece while Ken Noble (1975-78) has 30.
Radio Saturday
Oregon State's game will air on KTHH 990-AM in the Corvallis-Albany region. For those listening via TuneIn, search for the "KEJO-AM" channel as Oregon State women's basketball will air on the "Beaver Sports Network."
And TV Sunday
