George Mendazona set a career-best with three hits as Oregon State opened the series in Los Angeles with an 8-0 loss to UCLA Friday night. Mendazona singled twice and doubled down the left field line in the seventh inning.

George Mendazona's three-hit night marked his second multi-hit effort of the season, surpassing his previous best of two versus Nebraska on Feb. 23 in Surprise, Ariz. Â Mendazona started at third base for the third time this year on Friday, and for the first time since Feb. 24 against Nebraska.
