Beavers To Open Spring Season In Hawai’i

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team will open its spring season Thursday through Saturday at the 28th Annual Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
FIELD (18): Oregon State, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Hawai'I, Hawai'i-Hilo, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Pacific, San Jose State, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, UC Davis, USC and Utah.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings' Course.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Trevor Yu, juniors Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, sophomore Spencer Tibbits and freshman Sean Kato. Freshman Nolan Thoroughgood will compete as an individual.
FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start beginning each day at 7:30 a.m. Hawai'i time (9:30 a.m. PT).
LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament at golfstat.com.

LAST YEAR AT THE AMER ARI INVITATIONAL: Oregon State finished in 15th place at last year's Amer Ari Invitational.
The Beavers played much better in the second and third rounds, finishing the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 12-over 302-287-287--876 at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings' Course.
Spencer Tibbits led Oregon State for the fifth time in as many tournaments last season, finishing in a tie for 51st place with a 1-over 74-72-71--217.
Trevor Yu finished in 71st place with a 4-over 74-72-74--220, Shawn Lu was a stroke back with a 5-over 76-70-75--221 to finish in a tie for 72nd and Kyosuke Hara got better each round to finish in a tie for 78th with a 7-over 78-73-72--223.
Keaton Gudz fired a career-best 2-under 70 in the final round that moved him into a tie for 98th place with a 13-over 80-79-70--229.
Jonas Liebich competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 75th place with a 6-over 72-75-75--222.
Oklahoma State won the 18-team title with a 47-under 817 and Justin Suh of USC claimed medalist honors with a 13-under 203.
