
Madi Dagen Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Oregon State gymnast Madi Dagen was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for Feb. 4-10 when weekly honors were announced by the Pac-12 Conference office Tuesday.
Dagen, who hails from Pleasanton, Calif., won two of her events, the first of her career, in a win at Arizona on Friday. She tied her career-best with a 9.875 on the vault to tie for the event title and won the event title on the balance beam with a 9.90. She added a 9.825 on the floor exercise.
Through five collegiate meets, Dagen has established career-highs of 9.925 on beam and floor and 9.875 on the vault. She has 'hit' all 15 of the routines in her career and has two event titles.
This is Dagen's first career Freshman of the Week honor and is Oregon State's fifth all-time. Dagen joins fellow teammates Kaitlyn Yanish (March 13, 2018) and Mary Jacobsen (Feb. 23, 2016) as Freshman of the Week honorees.
UCLA's Kyla Ross and Katelyn Ohashi received Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week and Pac-12 Specialist of the Week honors respectively.
The Beavers, who are ranked No. 12 this week, host No. 14 California this Sunday for OSU's annual DAM Cancer meet. Fans can purchase their official DAM Cancer t-shirt at the Beaver Store, across the street from Gill Coliseum, to receive a free general admission ticket to each remaining DAM Cancer event this academic year (Gymnastics – Feb. 17 and Softball – April 5-7).
