Guards named to two more national lists
CORVALLIS – Redshirt-sophomore Destiny Slocum has earned another pair of national honors, as she was named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team and the Lieberman Award Top Ten on Monday.

The Naismith Midseason Team features 30 players over seven different conferences who have been identified as the top candidates for the Naismith National Player of the Year Award. The Lieberman Top Ten highlights the frontrunners for the Point Guard of the Year award.

Slocum, who has also been named to the Wooden Award Late Season Watch List and the Wade Trophy Watch List, leads the team with 16.9 points per game and 120 assists on the year. She has 11 20-point games this season, and has reached the mark in four-straight contests.

A digital communication arts major, Slocum is 10th in the Pac-12 in scoring, sixth in assists, and 13th in both field goal percentage and 3-point percentage. The guard's season has been highlighted by a 30-point game at Washington.

Oregon State is 20-4 on the season, its sixth-straight 20+ win campaign. The Beavers will take a 10-2 Pac-12 record into a pair of Civil War contests this weekend, beginning Friday evening in Eugene.
