Beavers, Iowa State Set For Early Season Clash

THE GAME: Oregon State (1-0) will host the Iowa State Cyclones (1-0) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Gill Coliseum in its second of two home games to open the season.

Iowa State won the first meeting, 71-64, in overtime on Nov. 30, 2007 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. Marcel Jones led the Beavers with 17 points and 19 rebounds, and Roeland Schaftenaar also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Craig Brackins led the Cyclones with 23 points, while Rahshon Clark added 15.

Iowa State won the second meeting, 63-50, on Dec. 6, 2008 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. Daniel Deane was the only Beaver in double figures with 14 points. Rickey Claitt and Roeland Schaftenaar scored eight points apiece. Lucca Staiger led Cyclones with 13 points and Craig Brackins added 13 point and 10 rebounds.
