Get To Know Jaydon Grant
November 07, 2019 | Football
What aside from football do you enjoy most about Oregon State?
Jaydon Grant: "I take pride in getting to play in the state where I grew up, in front of my family and friends."
What do you like most about Oregon State University, aside from playing football?
JG: "Aside from it being so close to home, I like the campus atmosphere."
What has been your favorite class at Oregon State?Â
JG: "A Native American Flute class."
How would you describe what it's like to play for Coach Smith and Coach Adams?Â
JG: "I really enjoy playing for Coach Smith. I've been able to build a solid relationship with him so it's nice to play with a head coach like Smith who really listens and respects his players. Coach Blue is the same way; he really makes an effort to know all of us in our position group off the field as well. Coach Blue always pushes us to be our best and holds us accountable, but also always has our backs. It's easy to work hard for a coach like that."
Does your number mean anything to you?
JG: "3 for the Holy Trinity, the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit."
If you weren't playing football, what would you be doing?
JG: "Getting my education and working."
If you could meet any historical figure, dead, or alive, who would it be, and why?
JG: "Martin Luther King Jr."
What life lessons has football taught you?
JG: "Football has taught me a lot about overcoming adversity. Through injuries and other things, I have learned how to overcome many obstacles as well as to not take anything for granted."
What doors has football opened for you that you never thought would be possible?
JG: "All the connections that I've made through OSU whether that be teammates, coaches, faculty, alumni, etc..."
What does an Oregon State education mean to you?
JG: "Honestly just getting my degree in general will mean a lot to me, and hopefully make my family proud."
