Get To Know Clay Cordasco
November 21, 2019 | Football
What aside from football do you enjoy most about Oregon State?
Clay Cordasco: "Probably the community and how close it is. I'm a big fisherman so I like to go out and fish."
Favorite class at Oregon State so far?
CC: "It was a history class during my first year here." Â
How would you describe what it's like to play for Coach Michalczik? Â
CC: "I think Coach Michalczik strives for perfection. He tries to push us as much as he can to get close to that."
Does your number mean anything to you?
CC: "There's no special meaning, I just picked it."Â
What would you be doing if you didn't play football?
CC: "I think Law Enforcement is what I would go into." Â
What was your first impression of Oregon State and Corvallis?
CC: "I landed here and I thought it was fantastic. It reminds me a lot of my home so I thought it would be a great fit."Â
What teammates do you hang out with away from the field the most?
CC: "Probably Blake Brandel and the whole offensive line."Â
What are your impressions on the new uniforms?
CC: "I like them, they're pretty cool. They've got that whole throwback look."
If you could meet at historical figure dead or alive, who would it be and why?
CC: "General Patton because of his leadership." Â
Do you have any pregame superstitions?
CC: "I've been wearing the same cutoff shirt that I made in fall camp. Blake Brandel, Jake Levengood and I all made our own cutoff shirts. I've been wearing that one every single game."
What life lessons has football taught you?
CC: "Accountability. It teaches you to work hard and to have a goal. My entire time here I've had to work for what I have now so it teaches you to work hard, show up and get the job done."
What doors has football opened for you that you never thought would be possible?
CC: "It's taken me all over the country. I've visited with kids in the Corvallis library and done ride alongs with local police. There are endless opportunities."Â
What does an Oregon State education mean to you?
CC: "It means a lot. I'm the first in my family to go to college so it'll be a big accomplishment once I get that."Â
