Beavers Head East For Navy Classic

 CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Wrestling team gears up to head east this week for two high-profile meets. The Beavers are set for a dual against George Mason in Fairfax, Va. on Thursday, Nov. 21 before competing in the Navy Classic on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The team is coming off of its first dual of the season where the group rolled to a dominant 40-8 victory against Simon Fraser in Washington. Brandon Kaylor (125), Devan Turner (133), Aaron Olmos (165), Jackson McKinney (184) and J.J. Dixon (197) all won by technical fall for the Beavers.
With a field of 17 teams from across the country, the 2019 Navy Classic will include 15 Oregon State grapplers in competition.
"We'll step up our competition for the Navy Classic," head coach Jim Zalesky. "There'll be a lot of good ranked guys and teams there so we'll just see where we're at. This time of year I like to look individually where we're at and where we have to go."

The Basics
The Oregon State Wrestling Team visits George Mason (1-0 overall; 1-0 MAC) at 4 p.m. PT on Thursday in its second dual of the season. Two days later, the Beavers travel to Annapolis, Md. for the 2019 Navy Classic which is slated to begin at 7 a.m. PT.

The 2019-20 Oregon State wrestling lineup boasts returning NCAA Qualifiers in Devan Turner, Hunter Willits and Grant Willits. The team racked up five dual wins last season and Grant Willits (141) claimed an individual title at the Pac-12 Championships,Â

A total of five wrestlers on the 2019-20 roster are individually ranked on either FloWrestling, TrackWrestling or Intermat. Redshirt junior Devan Turner is represented on all three lists at 133 pounds with his highest ranking coming at No. 9 (TrackWrestling).
