Hodgins Named A Biletnikoff Semifinalist
November 18, 2019 | Football
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Oregon State junior wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins has been named one of 12 semifinalists for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced on Monday.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the season's outstanding FBS receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.
Hodgins is looking to become the third Beaver to win the award, following Brandin Cooks in 2013 and Mike Hass in 2005.
Hodgins, an Oakley, Calif., native, has a career-best 1,021 receiving yards this season, which ranks second in the Pac-12 Conference and seventh nationally. He's added 13 touchdown receptions, which is good for second nationally.
Those 13 touchdowns are three shy of tying Cooks (2013) for the most in a single-season at Oregon State.
Fifty-six of his team-leading 73 receptions (76.7 percent) – which rank second in the Pac-12 – have gone for a first down or touchdown. He has caught 132 passes over the past two seasons, 101 of which have gone for a first down or a score, good for 76.5 percent.
Hodgins is one of two players from the Pac-12 on the semifinalists list, joining USC's Michael Pittman Jr.
The Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, which includes journalists, commentators and announcers, will select the finalists and award winners. The winner will be announced live on Dec. 12 at the College Football Hall of Fame on The Home Depot College Football Awards presented by Gildan. The show will start at 4 p.m. PT.
Next Game
Oregon State hits the road Saturday night for a 6 p.m. PT matchup at Washington State in Pullman. The game will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
