
Weinert, Diaz Named Scholar Athletes of the Month

CORVALLIS – Oregon State Athletics is proud to announce McKenzie Weinert and Eric Diaz have been named as November Scholar Athletes of the Month.
Weinert, a redshirt sophomore from Milwaukie, Ore., led the team with nine goals during the 2019 campaign including scoring both goals in OSU's double-overtime victory against Villanova. She started every game this season at forward allowing her to rack up 21 total points and earn Pac-12 All-Conference Third Team honors. Weinert is majoring in digital communication arts and was a Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2018, as the team still awaits this year's women's soccer academic awards.
Diaz is a senior from Woodburn, Ore., who has made 59 starts during his Oregon State career. He has recorded two goals and three assists this season, including an assist on the overtime-winner against California on Sunday. Diaz earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention his sophomore and junior years, as the team awaits announcement of 2019 honors. His career was highlighted by one of the biggest goals in program history, as Diaz score the lone marker against SMU in last season's NCAA Tournament to send the Beavers to the second round. Diaz, a digital communication arts major, will be honored as one six seniors playing their final regular season at Lorenz Field on Friday.
