
Jade Carey, Team USA Win Gold at World Championships Team Finals

STUTTGART, Germany – Oregon State gymnastics signee Jade Carey and Team USA won gold medals at World Championships Team Finals on Tuesday.
Carey, who finished first on the vault during the team qualifier on Saturday with a score of 15.300, posted the second-best vault result of the day, to U.S. teammate Simone Biles, with a score of 15.166.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native also performed on the floor exercise for the U.S. team both days. After tying for second in Saturday's qualifier, Carey secured second place with a score of 14.333 on Tuesday helping the American team to a three-point advantage over the competition on the floor apparatus alone.

Carey is back in action this Saturday to compete in the Individual Finals on the vault. She also tied for second on the floor exercise last Saturday but did not qualify to Individual Finals on the floor, due to the two competitors per country rule.
The future Beaver will continue her pursuit of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and is expected to join the OSU gymnastics program in time for the 2021 season.
