
Beavers Set For Two-Day Tournament In New York

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team will travel east to compete at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, which is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in East Hampton, New York.

FIELD (9): Oregon State, Brown, Cornell, Loyola Maryland, Penn, Princeton, Richmond, Seton Hall, Yale

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,673-yard Maidstone Golf Club.
Â
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of seniors Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, junior Spencer Tibbits and sophomores Carson Barry and Sean Kato. Sophomore Nolan Thoroughgood will compete as an individual.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be tee times beginning at 7:40 a.m. ET (4:40 a.m. PT) both days.

LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament at golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT: The Beavers used a strong finish to defeat Nevada in a 36-hole event on Sept. 23.

The Beavers shot a 1-over 289 at the Montreux Country Club in the morning before rallying for a 10-under 278 in the afternoon to finish with a 9-under 567 and win the Wolf Pack Shootout by 11 strokes over Nevada (2-over 281-297--578).

All 10 Oregon State golfers on the roster made the trip with five of them competing as individuals.

Spencer Tibbits was the top overall finisher with a 5-under 71-68--139. Sean Kato had a strong finish to post a 3-under 73-68--141 and Carson Barry was steady with a pair of 1-under 71's for a 2-under 142. Kyosuke Hara carded a 1-over 74-71--145 and Shawn Lu finished with a 10-over 79-75--154.
