CORVALLIS, Ore. – Six home meets, five television appearances and visits by two national powers to Gill Coliseum highlight the 2020 Oregon State gymnastics schedule, which was announced Wednesday.
Oregon State hosts SEC powerhouse LSU, along with conference foe Arizona State, in a three-team meet Feb. 8 and then welcome Pac-12 rival UCLA for a televised showdown at Gill Coliseum on Feb. 29.
OSU opens the season at the Critique Classic, a tri-meet with Georgia and Iowa, Friday, Jan. 3 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The Beavers' home slate begins Jan. 11 when they host a non-conference, tri-meet with Seattle Pacific and Centenary. Also on the home docket are conference meets with Stanford on Feb. 2 (Pac-12 Network) and Washington on March 6. OSU wraps up the home season on Senior Day against Illinois from the Big Ten on March 14.
OSU will also make television appearances on the road in 2020 at Utah (Feb. 15) and at California (Feb. 22). In addition, the road slate for the Beavers includes trips to Sacramento State (Jan. 17) and Arizona (Jan. 25).
The regular season concludes at the Pac-12 Championships March 21 at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Tickets are available as all-session passes for $44 apiece. Fans purchasing through the Beaver Ticket Office will be seated in the designated Oregon State section in the arena. If demand exceeds supply, orders will be allocated in the next best available sections. The order deadline is October 21, 2019.
The Beavers will also host their annual Orange & Black Exhibition on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. Admission is free to the exhibition and provides fans with their initial opportunity to see the team in action at Gill Coliseum.
The 2020 Oregon State gymnastics team will pursue its 47th straight postseason appearance. Sixteen returning letterwinners with a quartet of All-Americans – Hallie Briscoe, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Kaitlyn Yanish – amongst them will lead the squad this winter.
In addition, a seasoned team that includes eight seniors and returns 17 out of 24 routines from its NCAA Championship lineup are back in training. Three freshmen – Kayla Bird, Jenna Domingo and Jane Poniewaz – have joined the fray along with the return to health of senior Alyssa Minyard in training for the 2020 season.
Nine seniors – Halli Briscoe, Lacy Dagen, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Lena Greene, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Alyssa Minyard – and 16 total letterwinners will lead the Beavers, who finished sixth at NCAA Championships last year. The Beavers are slated to return 17 out of 24 routines from 2019.
