Beavers To Battle Buffaloes Thursday In Boulder

THE GAME: Oregon State (12-7, 4-3 Pac-12) hits the road to play Colorado (11-8, 2-5 Pac-12) at 6 p.m. PT (7 p.m. MT) on Thursday at the CU Events Center in Boulder.

The Beavers are eighth in the nation in blocked shots per game (5.6) ... Oregon State is 10-0 when leading at halftime and 11-0 when leading with five minutes to play this season ... vs. COLORADO: Oregon State and Colorado meet for the 22nd time with the Buffaloes holding a 14-7 advantage, including a 9-1 mark at home.

The Beavers' lone win in Boulder came on March 9, 2013 when they rallied in the second half for a 64-58 victory in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Oregon State won the only meeting between the teams last season, 76-57, on Dec. 29 at Gill Coliseum. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a game-high 24 points and Tres Tinkle added 23. Ethan Thompson finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Tyler Bey was the only Colorado player in double figures with 14 points.

Gligorije Rakocevic, Stephen Thompson Jr. and Tres Tinkle are the only current Beavers who have played in Boulder. Rakocevic played five minutes in 2016 and scored one point; he got the start in 2017 but didn't score. Thompson Jr. had 10 points off the bench in 2016 and scored a game-high 26 in 2017. Tinkle only played there in 2016 and finished with six points and four rebounds.

Since Colorado became a member of the Pac-12 in 2011, the Buffaloes have won eight of the 13 games, including two in the Pac-12 Tournament.

A WIN OVER THE BUFFALOES: If Oregon State defeats Colorado it will improve to 13-7 overall and 5-3 in Pac-12 play. It would also:

Equal Oregon State's best conference record through eight games since the 1989-90 team opened 7-1 (the 1992-93 and 2014-15 teams started 5-3).
Be the first time Oregon State won two of its first four conference road games since 2008-09.
Be the first time Oregon State defeated Colorado in Boulder since 2013 and only the second time in 11 trips there.
