In preparation for Alumni Weekend, take a look at four of the recent Alumni who have made themselves an international presence.
Greta Espinoza:
- Oregon State Letterwinner in 2016 and 17.
- Currently plays for the Tigres Femenil.
- The professional league in Mexico started a year ago when Espinoza was still playing in Spain with Levante FC.
- "Although I was in Spain playing, it (Mexico League) caught my attention to come and play in my home country. I always wanted to play for my home country, so when my agent said there was an opportunity for me, I didn't hesitate."
- Espinoza has seen time in eight games and scored one goal for the club.
- She was a member of the Mexico National Team who recently won a gold medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Columbia.
- Espinoza recounts that studying and playing at Oregon State was one of the best decisions she could have made.
- "At Oregon State, I made lifelong friends and grew up as a soccer player. Most importantly, I grew as a person."
Bella Geist:
- Oregon State Letterwinner in 2014, 15, 16 and 17.
- Signed with the 1. FFC Frankfurt in Germany in September.
- 1. FFC Frankfurt is a four-time Champions League winner.
- "It's a great thing that this move across the pond has worked so quickly and I now have the opportunity to move on to a very prestigious and successful women's football club. After sniffing 'professional air' in Portland after my college days, I'm looking forward to gaining new experiences in a new environment."
- Geist moves to Germany after she was picked in the third round (29th overall) of the 2018 draft and played with the Portland Thorns this season.

Natalie Higgins:
- Oregon State Letterwinner in 2014, 15, 16 and 17.
- Signed with Ravenna Woman FC in Italy on September 16.
- "My goal since I was little was to play professional soccer, so it is an amazing feeling to know I have reached my goal. I hope this opportunity opens up even more doors for me and that I can continue to grow as a person and player."
- Ravenna Woman FC will make their league debut on Oct. 14.
- Higgins is thankful that Oregon State helped to develop her into the player and person she is today. She is grateful for her teammates and coaches' support.
- "Oregon State taught me so many lessons. One of them being that no matter what the scoreboard says, work ethic and passion can always be present."
Emma Jones:
- Oregon State Letterwinner in 2014, 15, 16 and 17.
- Signed a contract with Linköping FC in Sweden on August 11.
- Most recently saw time against WFC Kharkiv in Linköping FC 4-0 win on September 27.
- "This has been one of the biggest achievements of my football (soccer) career. It has always been my dream to be a professional football player, and I have never seen myself doing anything else. This opportunity means everything to me."
- Jones gives a lot of credit back to Oregon State for where she is now. "Being at OSU helped me grow as a person and as a football player. I wouldn't be where I am today without all the ups and downs that I went through in college. Your path isn't always going to be perfect, but if you stick with what you love in your heart, then anything is possible!"
- Jones has enjoyed learning about a new culture and seeing a new part of the world. She has enjoyed playing football and exploring a country she has never been to before.
