Beavers Drop Match at Washington

Washington takes 1-0 win.
Seattle, Wash. – Oregon State women's soccer team kept Washington scoreless in the first half but ultimately falls to Washington, 1-0, on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Stadium in Seattle, Wash.

Toni Malone recorded the first shot for the Beavers off a breakaway pass that eventually went wide. Sydney Studer would get her head on the ball in the 40th minute and Diana Santiago would get the final shot in the first half in the 44th.

Freshman goalkeeper Bridgette Skiba had some big moments for Oregon State in the first half while racking up seven saves to help keep the game scoreless heading into halftime.

Washington jumped out to a 1-0 lead five minutes into the second half.

The Beavers tried to strike back with Helena Brown taking a shot on goal that Washington's goalkeeper was able to save.

Skiba would set a personal best in goal with 11 total saves on the night.

Oregon State will face Washington State in Pullman, Wash. on Sunday at noon to wrap-up the weekend.
