Get to Know Allison Hughes

Part 2 of our series introducing this year's newcomers brings us Allison Hughes. She is a sophomore setter from Cypress, Texas, who transferred to OSU from SMU.

What are you looking forward to most about playing for Oregon State?
The culture and family atmosphere of the volleyball program, as well as competing and winning in the Pac-12.

Who is/was your role model?
Parents and Grandma.

What was the best thing you did this summer?
Traveled to Maui, Hawaii and a road trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone with my family.

Do you have a nickname?
Alli.

Do you have a game day superstition?
Right shoe on first always.

How do you like to spend your time away from volleyball?
Shopping and napping.

Other than volleyball, which OSU team are you most excited to see this year?
Baseball

What other sport did you play growing up?
Tumbling, competitive cheer, competitive swimming, and track & field (hurdles and high jump).

What are you planning to study?
Business – Marketing

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Marketing director

What is your favorite movie?
"The Blind Side" or "Mamma Mia."

What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
Kim Possible

What is the best meal you cook?
Chicken and vegetables

What made you choose to come to Oregon State?
It feels like home with exceptional coaches and a fantastic team and is located in an amazing college town with a great atmosphere and a beautiful campus.
