
Nishiura Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Mari Nishiura was named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Tuesday.

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with the minimum cumulative GPA being a 3.50.

Nishiura, a rising junior from Mililani, Hawai'i, carries a 3.77 cumulative GPA in pre-business.

After transferring to Oregon State from the University of Nevada, Nishiura played in seven tournaments for the Beavers and had a scoring average of 76.42. She claimed the East West Match Play individual title with 1 up wins over Tzu Yu Chou of Iowa State and Kathy Lim of Michigan

Her best score was a 1-over 72 in the second round of the Coeur d'Alene Invitational and her best three-round score was a 9-over 222 at the Coeur d'Alene Invitational.
