Matt Creagan Named Director of Social Media

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Matt Creagan has been named Director of Social Media for Oregon State University Athletics, Beaver Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Barnes announced Wednesday.

Creagan arrives at OSU from the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, where he served as the team's social media coordinator for the past 15 months. He managed all social and digital media platforms for the Nets, which also included working with the franchise to enhance team and individual brands.

Prior to his tenure with the Nets, Creagan served as the social media/digital marketing coordinator for the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns for over two years. He also held internships with the Timbers and Thorns, as well as the University of Portland and Nike Digital.

"Matt's combination of experience in this state with the 2015 MLS Cup Champion Portland Timbers and in the NBA, the most digitally progressive league around, make him an excellent fit in the Best College Town in the Pac-12," OSU Associate Athletic Director for Ideation Russell Houghtailing said. "He's also a Beav at heart, with both his mother and uncle having attended Oregon State."

Creagan is a native of Pacific Northwest, graduating from the University of Portland with a bachelor's degree in marketing and a minor in music.
